What are LES CLEIAS jewels made of?

Because creativity and quality are the two fundamental pillars of our brand Les Cleias, we attach great importance to the selection of raw materials used in the manufacture of our jewelry.

We use stainless steel, gold plated, and brass.

  • 316 L Stainless steel is used for its hypoallergenic qualities (absence of nickel), robustness and high resistance to oxidation thanks to the chromium it contains. Gold plating is obtained by ionization. All these characteristics make Les Cleias jewelry your best everyday allies: they are very durable and perfectly suited for sensitive skin. They can even be worn in the shower. In addition to these advantages, stainless steel is infinitely recyclable!
  • Gold plating consists of electrochemically depositing a thin layer of gold onto a metal base. At Les Cleias, the base of our gold-plated jewelry is always brass. We have chosen to use 18-carat gold with a thickness of 3 microns to offer you the best quality at an affordable price and thus benefit from the "gold-plated" designation. One should not confuse "gold-plated" and "gold-gilded" jewelry: Les Cleias gold-plated jewelry has a much thicker layer of gold than gold-gilded jewelry, which gives it great durability. You can therefore wear Les Cleias Gold Plated jewelry every day for many years!
  • Brass, an alloy of pink copper and gray zinc, also known as "yellow copper", has been known since ancient times. It is a metal that does not cause allergies, is resistant, and malleable, allowing for the creation of very fine patterns. We use brass as such in our hair accessories and as the base for our gold-plated jewelry.

Can LES CLEIAS jewelry be worn in water?

Stainless steel and gold-plated jewelry can be worn in the shower and at the beach. However, we do not recommend wearing them in the swimming pool.

We also advise against wearing brass accessories in water.

How to care for a LES CLEIAS jewel?

To preserve the brilliance of your favorite jewelry, we advise you to protect them from daily aggressions (perfume, cosmetics, household products...) and to clean them from time to time with a small soft-bristled toothbrush and soapy water, without forgetting to dry them with a soft cloth that will restore all their shine.

Where are LES CLEIAS jewels manufactured?

Les Cleias jewelry is designed in our workshops in Paris and Hong Kong.

Our gold-plated jewelry is made in France. Our stainless steel jewelry is made in China.

What does the LES CLEIAS jewelry warranty cover?

All products sold on the website www.lescleias.com are guaranteed for 1 year. This warranty covers manufacturing defects from the date of purchase of the products. For products made of natural materials (stone, leather, etc.), each piece being unique, it is normal to receive an item whose appearance is very slightly different from the photograph on the website. These differences are not manufacturing defects.

The warranty does not cover:

  • natural wear and tear of the product;
  • negligence or improper maintenance, such as breakage or loss of the jewel or one of its elements;
  • deterioration due to mishandling, abusive or abnormal use, intentional or accidental physical modification, use for professional or commercial purposes;
  • visible defects and products damaged during transport, after delivery;
  • interventions performed on the jewel by any person not authorized by the Les Cléias After-Sales Service, as well as deterioration resulting from such intervention;
  • size readjustment (ring, bracelet, necklace).

How do I get my jewel repaired?

Fill out the contact form describing the problem and attach a photo of the jewel you wish to have repaired. We will contact you as soon as possible to offer a solution.

What is the repair time?

It takes 1 month between the date of receipt of the jewel and its reshipment date.

What are the repair costs?

If the jewel is repairable:

  • if the product is covered by the warranty, there are no repair fees;
  • however, if the repair is out of warranty, the cost is €10.

What does the product warranty cover?
